Our Financial Empowerment programs provide workshops to train individuals on basic job skills, interviewing, resume writing, and job search.
Employment Counseling and Job and Business Readiness – We teach participants to communicate effectively and other etiquette skills so they will be able to present themselves in a professional and respectful manner in the workplace and in society as a whole. Some other workshops are qualifying for a free college education, Paying bills in a timely manner, How to live debt free, How to open & manage a saving and checking account, Employment Ethics, Investing time and money wisely and How to start a successful business. Our Technology programs provide IT classes to train individuals in Microsoft Office Suite, A+ and Networking+.
Microsoft Office Suite, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ – The objective of the program is to provide a quality learning experience for students that prepare them for careers in IT. Through this program students can become certified to accept entry level IT positions. The CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ training prepares students for jobs as Technical Support Specialists, Field Service Technicians, IT Support Technicians, IT Support Administrators, IT Support Specialists, Network Administrators, Network Technicians, Network Installers, Help Desk Technicians and IT Cable Installers.
The fast track IT program is designed to educate students on the latest and greatest technology applications, terminology and standards. In addition to learning the applications, students will gain a deep understanding of how PC’s function and how to repair them. As the demand for IT jobs continue to increase, this program positions students to take advantage of those opportunities.
Our life skills workshops, performing arts classes and counseling programs include the following:
Counseling – Participants receive one on one and group counseling to identify and address various issues in their lives. Group counseling sessions focus on uprooting the cause of the problem by educating youth on teen-dating violence, violence prevention, peer pressures, anger management, self esteem, hygiene and etiquette. Our group-counseling sessions address learning skills that will aid them in changing addictive behaviors.
Life Skills Training – Participants are taught various skills that help them to live a more productive lifestyle. Sessions include teaching on anger management, conflict resolution, decision-making, self-esteem, assertiveness training, etc.
Music and Dance – We partner with local businesses and artists to help the youth develop skills in music and dance.
